What goes into high quality salmon?

Salmon is rich in numerous vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. Consumers are increasingly attracted to salmon for its reputation as a healthy protein source. To make sure high quality is delivered to consumers, we believe in the importance of maintaining high quality right from the start.

The process and systems put in place allow us to deliver a high quality product. This can be seen from the clean water in our system, to the advanced controls in our breeding facility. This results in eggs, and later salmon, specially selected for health and uniformity.

Clean, sustainable water

Water quality is a key component of our process. All eggs are produced in our freshwater facility located in Catripulli, Chile. The facility is fed by a sustainable source of all natural, clean spring water. This access to a constant supply of spring water is a truly unique feature of the breeding facility. Within this system, eggs are produced in a highly bio-secure environment.

Specially selected eggs

Our program is specially designed to provide high quality eggs, all year-round. Eggs are carefully selected for their large, uniform size and increased resistance to disease. Customers can be assured that the eggs they receive will have high hatch rates and swim out rates. In addition all eggs are certified negative for Bacterial Kidney Disease (BKD), Salmon Rickettsial Septicaemia (SRS) and have been 100% tested for Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis (IPN).

Within our facility, we are able to spawn all months of the year, even in challenging seasonal periods for the industry to supply eggs. A consistent supply of product means that your business will be supported with a supply of eggs with high hatch rates.

State-of-the-art breeding facility

The Center for Genetic Improvement (CMG) in Catripulli, Chile is an exceptional facility that excels in biosecurity, efficiency, and sustainability. The CMG is outfitted with specialized equipment and technology for producing high quality eggs. Features include automatic feeders, reuse and water treatment systems, thermal water control, and photoperiodic control. This makes our facility the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere. In addition, eggs are prepared with the facility’s automatic egg sorting machine

The Center is managed by highly trained personnel that practice standardized biosecurity protocols and are trained in leading animal welfare standards. All these steps combine to ensure that the eggs reach our customers in the best possible state and perform consistently well.

Delivering high quality is just one of the three promises we make to our customers and the industry. We ensure that each step of the process is done with high standards. By following these guiding principles, you can be confident that the final product that makes its way to consumers was produced with high quality from the start.
